Dr. Young H. An received his MD degree with honors from the University of Illinois, College of Medicine in Chicago. Dr. An completed his Residency in Otolaryngology at Emory University in June 2005. He is double Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery and in the specialty of Sleep Medicine.
Dr. An specializes in minimally invasive office management of chronic sinusitis and nasal obstruction. While many patients are effectively managed with non-surgical therapy, Dr. An also has extensive experience with office-based balloon sinuplasty. Appropriate patients can have balloon procedures performed in the office under local anesthesia and often return to work within days. Dr. An also offers the full range of the most advanced nasal and sinus surgery techniques including computer image guided sinus surgery.
Dr. An also specializes in minimally invasive office based treatment of snoring and mild sleep apnea. After a comprehensive upper airway evaluation, Dr. An can offer a customized treatment plan including a wide range of minimally invasive in-office procedures such as Pillar Implants, turbinate reduction, tonsil reduction, tongue base reduction, and palatal procedures. For patients with more severe sleep apnea or difficulty tolerating CPAP therapy, Dr. An also performs the full range of surgical therapy for sleep apnea. Dr. An completed his pediatric training at Egleston Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, and also focuses on a variety of pediatric conditions including chronic ear disease, pediatric snoring, and chronic tonsillitis.
Born and raised in Chicago, Dr. An came to Atlanta in 2000 for his residency training at Emory University School of Medicine. He also met his wife here in Atlanta. Dr. An is active in his church and the community, mentoring college and high school students pursuing careers in medicine. He also serves as the drummer for his church music team on Sundays. As an avid pianist for over 30 years, Dr. An also enjoys playing the trumpet, saxophone, bass guitar, and acoustic guitar. His interests also include cycling, swimming, running, and triathlon.
Dr. An is accepting new patients and sees patients in the Fayetteville, Stockbridge, and Buckhead offices of ENT of Georgia and the Atlanta Snoring Institute.
